Antonio Conte reveals how Blues can catch Manchester City

Last season was very hard for me to find the best way but then we had a fantastic season.

Boss Antonio Conte said the centre-back, who has found himself on the fringes of Chelsea's starting XI, is among several injury concerns, with Charly Musonda definitely out and Michy Batshuayi and Kenedy not yet at 100 per cent.

There was better news on wing-back Victor Moses, though, who is back in contention for the first time since damaging his hamstring last month.

"I only ask for one thing: to have all my players available, because in our squad there are 16 senior players and I trust them".

And it appears as though David Luiz may be set for a spell on the sidelines as Chelsea attempt to determine the full extent of his troublesome knee.

"To go on loan was the best decision for him and for the club".

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says Manchester City's summer spending improved an already "fantastic" team and the Italian is now anxious his side will fall further behind the Premier League leaders.

Conte's men rescued a late point at Liverpool on Saturday, with Willian's unexpected cross-shot finding the top corner to cancel out Mohamed Salah's opener but they are now 11 points adrift of top spot.

"I think Manchester City in this season is a strong team".

"I hope to have all my players available", said Conte. "If you play every game and you train the probability of an injury is very high".

Conte refused to concede that the title was out of reach, and pointed to how his champions had improved after a less-than-ideal start to the campaign.

"Manchester City's path is incredible, no?" said the Italian. "For sure we are talking about young players with good prospects to become Chelsea's players in the future. We are becoming more solid and we have to continue this way".

"We have to try to do our best".
