Ball Surpasses James, Becomes Youngest to Get Triple-Double

Ball Surpasses James, Becomes Youngest to Get Triple-Double

Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball became the youngest player in National Basketball Association history to record a triple-double, achieving the feat against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night at the age of 20 years, 15 days.

The Lakers rookie finished with an impressive tally of 19 points, 12 rebounds, 13 assists, 3 steals and 4 blocks, while shooting an improved field goal percentage. The Lakers went 0-3 during their three-game road trip of the East, courtesy losses against the Boston Celtics, Washington Wizards and the Milwaukee Bucks. For the Raptors, DeMar DeRozan (24.7 points per game) is a threat every time down court, but backcourt mate Kyle Lowry is scoring at a 12.9, roughly half his 22.4 average from last season.

The Cavaliers superstar previously held the record after notching his first triple-double in January 2005 at 20 years and 20 days old. Johnson made the call after Ball became the first rookie to notch up the statistical milestone during the Las Vegas Summer League. Lonzo's brother LiAngelo, who is a freshman at UCLA, was arrested for shoplifting on a team trip to China.

So the triple-double takes some of the sting out of hard times. Even when Ball's not shooting well he's doing so many other things to help the Lakers.
