Ben Affleck Wanted Matt Damon As Robin in Tim Burton's 'Batman'

While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, Affleck chatted about what it was like growing up as a child actor, talking about his birthday parties as a kid (one of them even included a belly dancer) and helping BFF Damon get an agent. And it helps that the rest of the stars, Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Cousin Sal, Shaq, Ty Burrell, Billy Crudup, and Jake Tapper, give their all in their hammy over-the-top performances.

If you want to see Ben Affleck on the big screen as the Caped Crusader once again, Justice League will hit theaters on November 17, 2017. Sure, it came to us via the usual press rounds that Ben Affleck must make, but this factoid is something that we won't soon forget.

One of the most well-known segments of Jimmy Kimmel Live! is when the host has celebrities read mean tweets about themselves, but for Kimmel's 50th birthday, his team chose to flip the script and have stars read mean tweets about Kimmel. Batman's got one of the most impressive, deep rogue galleries in all of comics, and I think it's time more of them were given the love they deserve! To be fair, some of the powers are a bit boring - Sykes is a box of bleach.

Kimmel is referring to Matt Damon's recent cameo in Thor: Ragnarok, where he played an Asgardian actor dressed as Loki.

But the blushing, guffawing Kimmel definitely seemed to appreciate it. "We were created by a weird sad kid who grew to later become a weird fat man". It emerged on his show that as a prepubescent kid, he wrote a comic called The Terrific Ten.

Alas, this wasn't a real movie trailer.

"That was the best gift I ever got", Kimmel said.
