Brazilian off-duty cop vanquishes armed robbers while holding infant son

An off-duty police officer who was holding a baby in his arms had a shootout with two suspected robbers at a pharmacy in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Much of the incident was caught on surveillance camera and has since went viral, with mixed opinions regarding the shooting.

Sgt. Rafael Souza was in a pharmacy in Campo Limpo Paulista with his child and wife on Saturday when two hooded armed robbers burst into the store, The Independent reported. He then turned his attention to the second suspect, Italo Creato, 22. As a dramatic video of the botched robbery shows, the cop was also carrying his infant son.

According to authorities, Creato and Alves entered the pharmacy "wearing hoods and wielding guns". Police say that the situation quickly escalated. Souza was holding his young child in his arms when he opened fire on the two suspects, killing them both.
