Corvette ZR1 Unveiled With 755 HP, 210+ MPH Top Speed

At the heart of General Motors" (GM) performance flagship is a supercharged "LT5' 6.2-litre supercharged V8, which pumps out a massive 563kW (755hp) of power and 969Nm of torque.

Chevy hasn't given us any specific performance numbers, but it did confirm that the new ZR1 achieves speeds in excess of 210 miles per hour (337 km/h).

Managing the output is either a seven-speed manual (you're welcome) or an eight-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission, which would be the first auto gearbox on a ZR1 ever offered.

Chevrolet hasn't gone into much detail regarding the ZR1's performance potential, though the company claims the Corvette ZR1 is capable of speeds "over 210mph" (338km/h). In fact, the car's new carbon fiber hood is open in the middle in order to clear the hardware. According to Chevrolet, the 2019 Corvette ZR1 tips the scales at 3,524 lb. The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 can be kitted with one of the two available aero packs.

Also available for the new Corvette ZR1 is the Sebring Orange Design Package.

In order to hit these impressive speeds, the vehicle has been equipped with an all-new front fascia and a "downforce-enhancing front underwing". Creature comforts like leather seats trimmed with sueded microfiber can be heated or cooled, depending on your preferences, though we imagine the vented seats will see the most use.

For example, the new ZR1 has a redesigned front end with huge air intakes to feed four new radiators, which brings the total heat exchanger count to 13, according to Chevrolet. Optionally, you could go for the ZTK Performance Package that draws more downforce from a larger trunk wing and an adjustable front splitter. The package also includes Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 summer tires, chassis modifications, and a retuned Magnetic Ride Control system that promises to deliver even greater cornering grip. There's also a company-first downforce-enhancing front underwing.

Two rear wing designs are available for the 2019 Corvette ZR1, each tied directly to the chassis just like with the Corvette C7.R racing vehicle.

A further option, the "Sebring Orange Design Package", adds orange accents as well as orange seat belts and stitching combined with the Sebring Orange Tintcoat paint.

Behind the wheel, you'll find the C7 Corvette's familiar driver-focused layout, coupled with a Bose premium audio system and a performance data recorder.
