Eagles kicker Jake Elliott ruled out, under evaluation for head injury

Eagles kicker Jake Elliott ruled out, under evaluation for head injury

- Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill stepped up to the challenge when he became the team's emergency kicker during their win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. He was ruled out for the rest of the game at halftime.

The linebacker took over kicking duties after kicker Jake Elliot was injured making a tackle on the opening kickoff.

The rookie out of Memphis went to the trainers table, and then exited the field, not long after missing a 34-yard field goal attempt wide right.

Of course, maybe trusting Grugier-Hill to make a field goal isn't that insane after all; he forced a touchback on his next kickoff.

Earlier this season, Elliott kicked a franchise-record 61-yard game-winning field goal to lift the Birds over Giants and continued his stellar play for the next several weeks. Punter Donnie Jones is also an option to kick in Elliott's place.

The Eagles are without a kicker in North Texas.
