Olympic silver medallist Sindhu, seeded second, disposed of Hong Kong's Leung Yuet Yee 21-18, 21-10 to set up a clash with either Japan's Aya Ohori or Russia's Evgeniya Kosetskaya in the next round.

MEN'S SINGLES shuttler Parupalli Kashyap won both his qualifying rounds to enter the main round of Hong Kong Super Series.

The three-time World Championships medallist will next face the victor of the match between Japan's Aya Ohori and Russian Evgeniya Kosetskaya.

HS Prannoy and Sai Praneeth will also take on their opponents.

Kashyap and Verma fought hard in their openers but their campaign came to a crashing end.

South Korean Lee Dong Keun beat reigning Commonwealth Games champion Kashyap 15-21, 21-9, 22-20 in an hour and nine minutes to level their head-to-head to 2-2.

Sourabh Verma, meanwhile, failed to put up a fight against Indonesia's Tommy Sugiarto, losing 15-21 8-21 to bow out of the competition.

Shlok/Arjun won their opening match but lost the second while Ashwini/Satwik lost the first match and ended their campaign.

In the women's doubles event, the Indian team of Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy suffered a major blow as they bowed out of the tournament after going down against the Chinese combo of Huang Dongping and Li Wenmei 11-21 21-19 19 -21 in a hard-fought contest.

In the Men's Doubles, the pair of Manu Attri and Reddy B. Sumeeth will clash with the Malaysian-Korean pair of Khim Wah Lim and Yoo Yeon Seong in their opening match.
