Iran Moves Up Two Places — FIFA Rankings

Malaysia's football ranking dropped and equalled their "worst" of World No 174 when the latest list was issued by Fifa today. It's the biggest drop for the Eagles since Gernot Rohr took charge of the team after the freefall experienced under erstwhile coach Sunday Oliseh.

Iran, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Korea Republic and Australia will be Asia's representatives at the FIFA World Cup 2018 Russian Federation.

Earlier this month, the Lions had lost 1-0 to Lebanon at the National Stadium, before falling to another defeat five days later, this time to Bahrain in an Asian Cup qualifier.

Northern Ireland are down one place to 24th in the November rankings while Wales have dropped five places to 19th. Congo DR are in fourth while Morocco, Burkina Faso and Cameroon all finished above Nigeria.

World champions Germany remain no1.

The latest rankings, which was published on FIFA's official website, sees the Eagles assume 50th position in the world and 8th in Africa.

Germany head Brazil, Portugal, Argentina and Belgium, while Spain move up two places to sixth as the highest-ranked side among the second seeds in next week's World Cup draw in Moscow.

FIFA previously announced that October FIFA rankings would be used to allocate World Cup qualified teams to the four pots according to their ranking in descending order.
