Jaguars' Lambo beats the Chargers 20-17 in OT

Jaguars' Lambo beats the Chargers 20-17 in OT

The game was incredibly close in the first half, with the both defenses playing well, but the difference was some boneheaded plays on special teams from the Chargers. For some reason, the Jaguars went super pass-heavy in the second half, even though they were only trailing by three points.

Bortles completed 28 of 51 passes for 273 yards, with a touchdown and the two picks.

The Jaguars selected the LSU product No. 4 overall in this year's draft to take some pressure off quarterback Blake Bortles by installing a run-first attack on offense. The kicker connected on a 50-yard attempt that put the Chargers up 17-14 with 10:29 left in the game.

A running back and kickoff returner for the Jaguars, Grant scored his first touchdown of the 2017 season on the fake punt.

It's easy to argue that the slow start to the season for Los Angeles was a direct result of poo special teams play. Jaydon Mickens returned a punt 63 yards for a touchdown in a victory against Cincinnati last week.

Bortles' wasn't aided by the running game like he had been in the past. The Jaguars went for a two-point conversion and converted the score with another pass from Bortles to Lee. It was Bortles' second interception of the day.

Wide receiver Arrelious Benn left the game with a knee injury in the first quarter and did not return. Jaguars lost long-snapper Matt Overton (right shoulder) in the fourth quarter. Los Angeles' Joe Barksdale (foot) and Jacksonville's Jermey Parnell (knee) missed the game after being listed as questionable Friday. So it will be important for the Chargers to hold onto the football and not give it up to an opportunistic Jacksonville defense. A few Jaguars coaches tracked down Bradley on the opposite side of the field, but it was clear Bradley wanted to save any reunions for after the game.

With games against Cleveland, Arizona and Indianapolis in the next three weeks, the Jaguars have a chance to take control of the division.

The switch did little to help the Jaguars on their first two drives of the second half.
