John Fox's Challenge Inadvertently Causes a Bears Turnover

It was supposed to be a week where the Bears reestablished a grip on their season...instead they found themselves in a old fashioned trap game that knocked them back down to size. The officials deemed otherwise.

The mishap occurred with the Bears trailing 10-3 with 8:09 remaining the in the second quarter.

Cunningham reached the ball across the pylon and he was initially ruled out at the 2-yard line to set the Bears up with a first-and-goal.

However, rather than awarding the Bears a touchdown or giving Chicago the ball at the two-yard line, officials determined Cunningham actually lost control of the ball as he hit the pylon and fumbled.

The Bears have won 12 games since John Fox took over as head coach in Chicago in 2015.

It was a similar call to the touchdown reversed on October 15, when Jets tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins thought he had a touchdown against the Patriots only to have it taken away by a replay review.

Fox immediately challenged the play, arguing it should have been a touchdown since the ball hit the pylon prior to Cunningham's foot hitting out of bounds.
