OnePlus has said that the same feature is going to take place in the the OnePlus 5 also, on the lines of OnePlus 5T.

As of now, there is no information on the availability of the smartphone in India. The company also launched the OnePlus 3T Midnight Black Limited Edition variant in India earlier this year, so there is a possibility of the Lava Red edition for the country as well. Spec-wise, the red 5T is exactly the same as the regular variant.

Coming to the specifications of OnePlus 5T smartphone, the phone features a 6.01 inches display with an aspect ratio of 18:9.

Running on OxygenOS, under the hood is Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and up to 8GB of RAM, which OnePlus says allows the 5T to run "a large number of apps in the background without a single second of lag".

As for the camera tech, both the OnePlus 5T and Huawei Mate 10 Pro serve up a capable dual lens snapper on the rear.

"Not like other smartphone vendors who often launch new handsets, OnePlus unveiled new products with a comparatively lower speed". OnePlus 5T has a 16MP primary sensor and 20MP secondary sensor. For selfies and video calling, there is a 16MP camera. There's a similar 3300mAh non-removable battery packed in an anodised aluminium body.

Due to the bezelless screen, the fingerprint sensor, previously placed with the home button at the bottom of the screen, has been moved to the back under the cameras. The former is meant specifically for Chinese audiences, but runs on the same Android 7.1.1 Nougat software. One new feature included in the 5T is the Face Unlock- an Apple iPhone X FaceID like feature which lets users unlock the phone by scanning their face.

The price of OnePlus 5T in India starts from Rs.32,999.
