Mulayam's daughter-in-law dances to Padmavati tune, sparks row

The song had received millions of views as soon it was officially released.

When the song was released, Deepika had called it one of her toughest sequences.

Rajput groups have been protesting against the movie Padmavati for allegedly distorting the historical facts. Dressed in a red lehenga with a few other relatives joining her in the background, Aparna performed a graceful dance to the song that has been another bone of contention for the film's protesters. The film is banned in a couple of states in the country.

Aparna recently performed a dance on the song at her younger brother Aman Singh Bisht's engagement.

Amid all the Padmavati controversies, a video of Aparna Yadav, the daughter-in-law of Samajwadi Party chief's veteran Mulayam Singh Yadav, dancing to the controversial Ghoomar song has hit the internet. After Deepika, Aparna Yadav is the target of fringe elements.

The Karni Sena is particularly miffed at this particular song which, it contends, shows Rajput women dancing in public, which is not a depiction of the reality of the past.

It's sad that the Karni Sena feels this way, but it's not true. "It is as if she is trying to tease us and rub salt in our wounds", a leader of the Shree Rajput Karni Sena said while talking to Times Now.

The movie was supposed to release on 1 December but due to the controversy, the makers had to postpone the release date. However, makers mutually made a decision to postpone the film due to controversy.
