New 'Pokemon Go' Event Tasks Players With Catching 3 Billion Pokemon

New 'Pokemon Go' Event Tasks Players With Catching 3 Billion Pokemon

Even with every Pokemon Go player in the world working toward this common goal, catching 3 billion Pokemon in just seven days seems like an awfully big request.

The developers of Pokemon Go has said that since their journey began with the trainers from all around the world, they have heard that players are playing together with new friends from different countries and that has become the inspiration for the makers to introduce the unique event. That's right, 3 billion. From now until Sunday, November 26, everyone is encouraged to catch as many Pokemon as they can. There will also be a new video series called Pokemon Go Travel, which will give fans a chance to "see the world through the eyes of a Pokemon Trainer". Then Farfetch'd will appear worldwide and Kangashkhan will be available in East Asia for 48 hours.

Sort of a travel show with Pokemon Go serving as the backbone, participants will make several stops across Japan in order to catch critters, "visit new places, meet new people" and add their own numbers to the community total. And depending on how many Pokemon are captured, the entire community will earn some special rewards. The first tier unlocks after 500 million Pokemon have been caught and it grants everyone double XP, and six hours of Pokemon luring incense.

Double stardust and more Pokemons will spawn upon the 1.5 billion milestone, and 3 billion, the above-mentioned Farfetch'd event will trigger, though only for 48 hours, but that should be plenty of time to nab that 100 percent IV Pokemon if you're lucky.
