Packers RBs Jones, Montgomery out with injuries

What the Green Bay Packers fourth-year wide receiver is concerned about is the limited number of big plays the offense has generated during the three-game losing streak that has coincided with quarterback Aaron Rodgers' collarbone injury.

Adams was responsible for two of the game's biggest plays.

With the Packers' game plan predicated largely on short passes, Adams was open down the field and admitted this week that he misjudged backup quarterback Brett Hundley's throw, resulting in an incompletion instead of what could have been a momentum-generating 78-yard touchdown catch. A delay of game penalty directly before his third down bomb to Adams late in the fourth quarter while the Bears were still threatening.

"Every indication that we had was that he scored and if anything he would be at the 1 or inside the 1 instead of I think they spotted the ball originally at the 3", Fox said. I needed to do the same thing to make sure we sew up this game. Cobb did contribute a tackle-breaking 38-yard catch-and-run early in the game. He is 1-5 against Green Bay since taking over the Bears, but he said he isn't anxious about his job status. The 11-play, 70-yard drive ultimately ended in a Mason Crosby 40-yard field goal to get the Packers on the board.

"It's lack of focus, which is uncharacteristic of us", said quarterback Mitch Trubisky. "Today, we were a little more consistent".

The 62-year-old Fox dropped to 12-29 in his three seasons with Chicago. Because Jones is now out of the NFC North clash, Montgomery, who has encountered some injury trouble of his own this season, will be asked to carry the majority of the workload going forward.

The Packers later lost running back Ty Montgomery when he injured his ribs.

The Chicago Bears had an extra week to prepare for a Green Bay Packers team that got shellacked on Monday night football just six days ago, but it didn't matter as they lost 23-16 at Soldier Field. He showed off his mobility with a 17-yard scamper on third-and-2 that set up the Adams touchdown pass. The first was a second-and-9 laser to Davante Adams, tossed with precision into a window where only the Packers wideout could grab it. Adams snatched the ball and darted past the pylon for a 19-yard touchdown - the second of Hundley's career.

The Packers rushing yards came from a trio of backs, two of which went out with injury.

"You just have to remove yourself from (thinking about the contract) and think about putting good film together", Adams said.

Trubisky, meanwhile, threw for 297 but was sacked five times. I don't think running the ball would have gotten him a score. Hundley responded to the challenge, making the kind of throws that can push the Packers back to the playoffs.
