Pakistan arrests 'human smuggler' linked to deaths in Turbat

It was found out the deceased were en route to Europe through Iran for jobs.

The bodies are presently at the District Headquarters Hospital in Turbat.

Official sources said that the five bodies were found in a seasonal stream, some 60km northwest of Turbat town.

All five of them belonged to Gujrat and - as per spokesperson of the Balochistan government - they were killed on the same day as the other 15 whose bodies were found earlier.

It is worth mentioning here that 15 dead bodies were found on a mountain in Balochistan's Turbat district on Wednesday as well. The officers launched a search operation in the area afterwards.

Senior administration official Akbar Harifal said the killings seemed to be the work of separatist groups.

Zehri also instructed the inspector general of police to strengthen surveillance to stop those illegally crossing-the border from other provinces and expedite intelligence-based operations against terrorists. All the deceased, hailing from Punjab, were taken to Balochistan by human traffickers with an intention to make them cross over the Pak-Iran border.

The banned Baloch Liberation Front, headed by Allah Nazar Baloch, had claimed the responsibility for the killings of the 15 men - who aspired to enter Europe illegally - from Punjab. Some die on the way due to harsh conditions or attacks by Baloch separatists.
