Philadelphia mayor calls Donald Trump a 'punk and a bully'

Kenney today expressed how outraged and how disgusted he was by this decision, saying, "Our President is a bully, our President is a punk, and he just doesn't get it".

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney did not hold back in his criticism of President Donald Trump on Wednesday.

Mayor Jim Kenney hit out at the administration's decision to remove Temporary Protected Status for Haitian immigrants. He said deporting these immigrants will be a detrement to the local economy.

He has criticized the president before, and fought him in court - and won - over the administration's attempt to withhold federal law-enforcement grants from so-called sanctuary cities.

The status gives people from certain war-ravaged or natural disaster-hit countries permission to live and work in the USA without fear of deportation.

People covered under TPS will have a year and a half to return to their country of origin under the new White House directive.

Temporary Protective Status, or TPS, was created in 1990 to allow people affected by war or natural disaster to work and live in the U.S. Currently, 435,000 are here as a result of the program, according to NBC10. They pledged to fight to restore TPS for Haitians and other foreign nationals. About 50,000 are here under TPS, granted after the 2010 quake that destroyed much of the capital city of Port-au-Prince and killed an estimated 230,000 people.

"It's wrong for the Haitian community in Haiti, it's wrong for the Haitian community here", Carlucci says.
