Police invite Burna Boy for questioning over robbery attack

The police have invited dancehall star, Burna Boy, over his alleged involvement in the robbery of singer, Mr 2Kay.

Mr. 2kay was attacked last month at Eko Hotel and Suites after attending a show put together by Buckwyld Media Network Limited, which featured many other artistes. They robbed him at gun point and beat him before they left.

The singer, who was beaten and tied up by the armed men, allegedly lost his Audemais Piquet (AP), automatic gold wristwatch worth $25,000, gold jewellery valued at N1.5million, mobile phones, a pair of Adidas shoes, cash and perfumes to the thieves who posed as hotel workers.

Burna Boy, born name Damini Ogiulu, has been requested by the Lagos State Commissioner of police, Edgal Imohimi, to report at the state command over allegation of robbery levelled against him. Mr. 2Kay opened the door and four men entered with a gun.

The police stated that the arrested suspects Balogun Ademola, Obina Igwe, Tunmise Omotore and Joel Kantiok, who claimed to be Burna Boy's road manager, confessed that they were allegedly paid by Burna Boy to carry out the operation. We did some interviews and eventually, we were able to arrest one of the girlfriends of the gang members.
