Tennessee State Player Expelled From School After Punching Coach on Sideline

Tennessee State defensive end Latrelle Lee was expelled from the school Saturday after punching a coach during the Tigers' 23-20 win over Southeast Missouri.

Lee was immediately dismissed from the sideline by head coach Rod Reed for improper misconduct and was later expelled from both the team and the university.

According to the report, Greenstone was trying to keep players from getting too close to the field.

During the time of the punches, Greenstone was reportedly walking down the sideline telling players to get back if they were toeing the line. There is as of now no explanation of what led to Lee swinging on Greenstone.

The Nashville Police Department referred questions about any possible charges stemming from the incident to Tennessee State University police.

The irony in this situation is that Lee was majoring in criminal justice. He played in a total of 16 games during his freshman and sophomore seasons.

Greenstone previously played for Vanderbilt from 2007-2011 and has been coaching for the Tigers for the past four seasons. He was named the program's coordinator of strength and conditioning in August 2016 after spending two years as the assistant coordinator.
