Two officers injured, one suspect wounded in stolen vehicle incident

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, police said.

Officers ordered a man and woman inside the auto to exit, but they refused.

Arlington police shot and wounded a suspect after he backed a stolen vehicle into officers outside a Baymont Inn hotel near Six Flags on Friday morning, police said.

"While that's going on they noticed the driver is trying to get it into gear". He gets the auto started again from what I'm being told and at that point he reverses up.

When officers responded, one person in the vehicle ran inside the hotel.

An Arlington police officer shot a man who hit him with a auto while trying to elude police in a stolen vehicle Friday morning. When he reverses his vehicle he strikes one officer in the left knee. The officer who was hit in the knee by the suspect vehicle was treated at the scene and police say he is going to be fine.

While the officers were pulling the woman out of the passenger seat and detaining her on the sidewalk, the driver hit the gas and drove in reverse into one of the officers, knocking him to the ground and dragging him a short distance, Cook said.

Lt. Cook said the second officer was knocked onto the ground. That man was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition. He fired at least one shot and hit the suspect. The second officer that was knocked down was also transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The third person mentioned on the 911 call was found inside the hotel and is being interviewed by police, officials said.

"We don't know anything on charges yet".

The suspect, identified as 39-year old Shaun Veloz, will be charged with two felony counts of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer and one felony count of Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle.
