Wingflyers fly into a plane in mid air over Swiss Alps

Two wingsuit flyers jumped from the summit of a mountain in the Swiss Alps, landing inside a moving plane in what can only be described as an insane stunt.

Unlike Bond who did the daredevil jump in one effort, Fred Fugen and Vince Reffet, took more than 100 practice flights to flawless the stunt with pilot Philippe Bouvier and co-ordinator and navigator Yves Rossy. The duo BASE jumped from Jungfrau Mountain, one of the highest in the Swiss Alps at about 13,000 feet, and flew in formation with a Pilatus Porter down the steep mountainside before flying through its side cargo door.

A video of their exploit, achieved in October, was released...

They did it in honour of wingsuit flyer Patrick de Gayardon, who was the first to perform a similar stunt.

The pair maintained contact with the plane's pilot by using a push-to-talk system to help coordinate the audacious feat. In total they made 20 test flights into the plane before tackling the stunt from the mountain.

"We're used to jumping from the plane, but here you have to enter into it". But the biggest risk was when we BASE jumped from the cliff. We also worked on the parachutes so they don't open too fast in case we touch the plane.
