Xbox One X surpasses PlayStation 4 Pro first-week sales in UK

Based on their first-look which is based on the campaign, it seems that the main difference would be the clarity of images, where they found that the Xbox One X was capable of rendering more pixels more of the time, although given the fast-paced nature of the game, we're not sure if this is something that players will notice.

It's first week sales are also well ahead of PS4 Pro, which did a little over 50,000 back in November 2016.

To begin with, Call of Duty: WWII looks great on both Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro, offering a perfectly fluid gaming experience that keeps the 60fps fixed in every situation.

Xbox One X lives up to its billing as "the world's most powerful console", impressively improving the performance of all games on the system, and able to run many that choose to support it in 4K resolution and at a smooth 60 frames per second.

The Xbox One X performing as well as the Switch and charting so high above the PS4 Pro has likely been helped by the stock shortages the other two consoles suffered, though it's still a very promising start for Microsoft's 4K console.

The best selling games for the Xbox One were Call of Duty: WWII, followed by Assassin's Creed Origins, FIFA 18 and the Forza duo: Forza Motorsport 7 and Forza Horizon 3.

According to GfK Chart-Track's retail sales data, all four of the aforementioned games featured in the top five best-selling Xbox One games at retail last week.

The PS4 has outsold the Xbox One globally by a ratio of about 2:1 as of early this year, but both the Xbox One S and Xbox One X gave notable boosts to Microsoft's console in the UK.

In many ways, Xbox One X is the culmination of years of trying to fix the Xbox brand.
