Bryan Singer Has Officially Been Fired From The Freddie Mercury Biopic

Out director Bryan Singer has been fired from the Queen film Bohemian Rhapsody.

The film has been shooting in London; on December 1 studio Twentieth Century Fox confirmed that due to the "unexpected unavailability" of Singer, the production had been put on hold.

Singer's reps later said in a statement: "This is a personal health matter concerning Bryan and his family". Obviously, there are millions of dollars on the line here, and that's a lot of pressure for any director, even one as experienced as Singer. According to THR, there was no physical contact but Singer did throw an object at Malek. Sources close to the outlet state that Tom Hollander, who portrays Queen band manager Jim Beach, "briefly quit the film" due to Singer's erratic behavior, though he was ultimately "persuaded to return".

Singer was absent from the film for multiple days without explanation, forcing cinematographer Thomas Newton Sigel to stand in for him as director. There's also been conflict with Malek, who has reportedly complained to the studio about Singer's behavior.

To the surprise of no one, Fox fired Bryan Singer from the helm of Bohemian Rhapsody, after he went AWOL for three days last week when production was to resume after Thanksgiving. The Queen biopic stars Mr. Robot lead Rami Malek as frontman Freddie Mercury and is set for release on Christmas Day 2018.

A replacement is expected to be announced soon. "But the man just punched through it all". However, in order to be a director, you have to be reliable and communicative. But of all these odd connective feelings about him, the thing that touched me about him was the music. The new filmmaker will complete the final two weeks of principal photography.
