Cowboys officially place RB Ezekiel Elliott on active roster

Cowboys star running back Ezekiel Elliott doesn't want to talk about the past.

Elliott will get back to business this weekend as the Dallas Cowboys host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday afternoon.

A Bryant fumble in second quarter led to Seattle's only other touchdown. After a Prescott run, a holding penalty on a pass play and the third sack of Prescott, Dan Bailey missed a 34-yarder.

"We didn't play well enough". Cowboys coach Jason Garrett reportedly said he would take "a wait and see" approach to how much he'll use Elliott in the game.

"You have to do those basic fundamental things". Russell Wilson passed for 93 yards. For the game, the Rams average starting field possession was their own 47-yard-line.

Overlooked in last Sunday's loss to the Rams was the Seahawks' inability to slow down Pharoah Cooper on punt and kick off returns. The first was a 3-yarder to Jimmy Graham, the second a 6-yarder to Doug Baldwin after running plays backed up the Seahawks both times.

But it did not open up the struggling passing game that has been a season-long issue, becoming even more acute during Elliott's absence.

Now with 10 touchdowns on the season, Graham leads all tight ends in the NFL.

But it meant nothing because the offense failed to score a touchdown for the fourth time this season. He also has had four interceptions returned for touchdowns.

Bryant had another ball go off his hands on a throw behind him, and the tipped ball was intercepted by K.J. Wright to wipe out one of several promising Dallas scoring chances. He has 11 dropped passes this season.

More to the point, it was a continuation of a frustration season by the Cowboys' No. 1 receiver, who makes $12 million annually.

The Cowboys, who lost their first three without Elliott before the winning streak, didn't take it easy on last year's National Football League rushing leader after his six-week layoff, giving him 15 carries for 73 yards in the first half.

But questions about the future have now risen to the forefront and need to be discussed.

For the fourth time since 2007, the Cowboys have followed a double-digit win season by missing the playoffs.
