Harold Ford, Jr. responds to report about firing, misconduct allegations

NEW YORK (AP) - Morgan Stanley on Thursday fired former Congressman Harold Ford Jr. following allegations of misconduct.

Aww, shit. Nevermind...it's just a former member of the US House of Representatives.

"He has been terminated for conduct inconsistent with our values and in violation of our policies", a spokeswoman for the company told HuffPost. And the only people that can openly harass each other are senior execs hoping to be CEO.

Ford responded to the allegations in a tweet.

In her account, the woman, who is not identified in the story, said she and Ford were meeting for business reasons when the incident took place.

Afterward, Ford continued to email her and ask her out to drinks.

Wow, that's pretty awful and dumb.

At least one woman, who is not a Morgan Stanley employee but interacted with Ford in a professional capacity, was interviewed by Morgan Stanley's HR department as part of the investigation. Ford apologized and agreed not to email the woman anymore.

She was left "distraught, shocked and frightened" by the incident, an acquaintance said. Ford Jr. replaced his father upon retirement and kept the seat for 10 years. Ford joined Morgan Stanley in 2011 as a managing director.

Ford regularly appears on MSNBC's "Morning Joe", where now-disgraced political reporter Mark Halperin was also a frequent guest. Ford served in the House for almost 10 years before deciding to run for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Republican Bill Frist.
