Huawei releases Android Oreo update for Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro

As we have seen in the Huawei Mate 10 couple of months ago, the Huawei Mate 9 and Mte 9 Pro also have the man Artificial Intelligence powered features with the rolling out of the new batch of updates. This is the latest version of Huaweis Android customization, it is based on Android 8.0 Oreo. Though it is a tedious work, but worth doing it as the update brings lots of new features and functionalities. Huaweiblog.de reports that the beta update seems to be only showing up for Mate 9 users with MHA-L29C432B194 firmware version right now. The device also features a 3D Glass Body, which is beautifully and symmetrically curved on all four sides for an ergonomic hold with a reflective band design on the back to highlight the New Leica Dual Camera.

After the Oreo update, the smartphones will have picture-in-picture mode that lets users to two tasks simultaneously. Android Oreo has other features like including Background limits, installation of apps via APK, over 60 new emojis, notification dots, Wide-gamut colour for apps, Snoozing individual notification, Adaptive icons, Keyboard navigation, WebView enhancements and much more.

No information when the global variant of the Huawei Mate 9 will be available but it should roll out soon. There are reports suggesting that Huawei might release a similar update to the Huawei P10 and Honor V9, but these updates are still in beta so users might have to wait a bit longer. Connectivity options on the smartphone include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 4G LTE with VoLTE voice calling support, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.

Featuring an all-new Huawei FullView Display, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro boasts a stunning 6-inch screen with an 18:9 OLED display, high screen-to-body ratio and HDR10 for dynamic video viewing. The Mate 9 has a 4,000mAh non-removable battery.
