Iran leader warns Trump Jerusalem 'violation'

US wants to start a war in the Middle East and its plans to move its Israel embassy to Jerusalem are a sign of incompetence and failure, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has always emphasized that the main causes behind destabilization and insecurity in the Middle East are continued occupation of the Palestinian lands by the Israeli regime, the US' full and all-out support for the Zionist regime, and depriving the oppressed nation of Palestine of their basic rights to establish an independent state for their own with al-Quds as its capital. We look for unity; but, in response to this willingness for unity, there are some who seek a war and their policies are based on war.

Ayatollah Khamenei stressed on the Islamic Republic's desire to maintain unity among Muslim nations, stating: We have no conflict with Islamic nations. In response, we admonish; we use a language of advice; we rely on admonition. Therefore, the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns this act and calls on the global organizations, influential countries, and especially the Islamic states, to maintain the stability of the region and prevent the United States from doing so, which is only for the benefit of the Zionist regime. "Today, the enemies have launched a new conspiracy against the Muslims and have targeted the great goal of the liberation of the Holy Quds", said Rouhani.

In a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on Wednesday, President Rouhani said all Muslim countries should join hands and stand against "the wrong, illegal, provocative and very dangerous" move of the U.S. to recognize Quds as the Zionist regime's capital.

The US provocative decision to recognize the city of Quds as the integrated capital of the Zionist regime will not bring peace and stability to the region, and on the contrary, it will reveal US government's intentions and discredit this country's claims in the eyes of parties who still believe in the US impartiality in the peace negotiations.

The Iranian president said, "Islamic countries and all the free countries of the world must act quickly against Washington's move ... to stop them".

Rouhani also said he would take part in the emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which is suggested by his Turkish counterpart.
