John Green novel Turtles All the Way Down getting film adaptation

John Green novel Turtles All the Way Down getting film adaptation

If done right, Fox's third Green adaptation could potentially address OCD onscreen in valuable ways. "So now's the time to begin inundating me with casting suggestions".

In the announcement, Green said the story "isn't the sort of thing that usually lends itself to film" before revealing that he's been in discussions with his previous collaborators for the past two months to figure out whether the adaptation could actually happen. He pointed out that he does not cast in movies because "no one ever reads my Twitter bio". Green is the author of the novel "The Fault in Our Stars", which was turned into a 2014 feature film starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort, that took in $307.2 in the worldwide box office.

He continued, "I'm really excited for the opportunity and also the challenge of the Turtles All the Way Down movie, and I hope you're excited, too".

Turtles All The Way Down, Green's first release in six years, centers on Aza, a 16-year-old with obsessive compulsive disorder. The book does belong to you, but I had to make this decision on behalf of it. "If you care about the book, please know that I will try to listen to you throughout this process", he said. When a local billionaire disappears, Aza and her friend Daisy set out to find the missing man.

"I nearly didn't sell the movie rights to my book, The Fault in Our Stars, partly because I'd had some bad experiences in Hollywood, but partly because that book was really close to me", he said in a YouTube video announcing the news. So together, they navigate the short distance and broad divides that separate them from Russell Pickett's son, Davis.

Temple Hill's Isaac Klausner and Marty Bowen will produce, with Erin Siminoff and Molly Saffron overseeing for Fox 2000.
