Lindy Lou Layman's Inartful $300K First Date With Texas Lawyer

Lindy Lou Layman's Inartful $300K First Date With Texas Lawyer

Buzbee located her and called her a second Uber, but the suspect allegedly became aggressive.

A woman accused of destroying three paintings and two sculptures belonging to Houston attorney Tony Buzbee and causing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage appeared in court.

The details of what happened on the night before Christmas Eve are unknown, but a police affidavit specifies that, at some point, Layman tore very expensive paintings off the walls of Buzbee's River Oaks home and poured liquid on them, in addition to throwing equally valuable sculptures across the room.

Layman, who was identified as a freelance court reporter, was arrested on charges of criminal mischief and was released from Harris County Jail after posting $30,000 bail on Monday, CBS News reported.

KHOU-TV reports officials said Buzbee called an Uber for Layman, but she refused to leave and hid inside the home.

Total damages were in the $300,000 range, though the emotional anguish of losing an original Warhol is priceless.

Tony Buzbee hosted a fundraiser for Donald Trump past year.

In the Texas Lawyer article, Buzbee said he had not met Layman before the incident and that she had been at his central Houston home with several other people.

A former U.S. Marine who served in the Persian Gulf War, Buzbee made news this year when he bought an M4 Sherman tank that landed on the beach in Normandy with the U.S. Armed Forces during WWII.

Buzbee's social media pages display his "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" excursions.

Prosecutors said it had been their first date, according to the station.
