Mark Schwahn Fired from The Royals After Sexual Harassment Claims

Alexandra Park, star of E! drama series "The Royals", has issued a statement indicating that she experienced harassment and misconduct from creator Mark Schwahn similar to that being alleged by the stars and crew of Schwahn's previous series, "One Tree Hill".

In a statement to Deadline on Thursday, The Royals' production company, Lionsgate, said that they had concluded their investigation on the creator/executive producer/showrunner, and decided that he will not be returning to the series.

'The fourth season of the show has already completed production and will air as scheduled on E! in the spring'.

The claims against Schwahn, who was also the creator and showrunner for "One Tree Hill", first surfaced publicly in November after a former writer on the popular TV drama tweeted details of her and other women's alleged encounters.

Lionsgate stated they "suspended" Mark from The Royals during their investigation. "To the ones who did and to the ones who didn't or couldn't, I hope this news is a salve to your souls", One Tree Hill alum Sophia Bush tweeted in response to Schwahn's firing. It airs on E! in both the United Kingdom and the US.

In the letter released Monday, the actors and crew members wrote, "Many of us were, to varying degrees, manipulated psychologically and emotionally".

"Many of us were spoken to in ways that ran the spectrum from deeply upsetting, to traumatizing, to downright illegal". They say that some felt "physically unsafe" on set and some are still in treatment for post-traumatic stress.

Shortly after the letter from One Tree Hill cast and crew, 25 women from The Royals cast and crew spoke up in a statement.

"All of the female cast members of "One Tree Hill" have chosen this forum to stand together in support of Audrey Wauchope and one another", the letter said.

"E!, Universal Cable Productions and Lionsgate Television are committed to providing a safe working environment in which everyone is treated respectfully and professionally".
