Microsoft Rewards Ohio Kid with Xbox One X for His Generosity

Do a good deed, everybody wins. In what is the season of goodwill, Microsoft has given a 9-year-old boy a Christmas to remember after he gave up his Xbox One present to buy blankets for the homeless.

The selflessness of the boy caught the attention of Microsoft, the Redmond giant surprised him at Beachwood Place Saturday.

At the store employees led him to the back, where he was presented with 2 large bags of gifts, including an Xbox One. And Frye did a bit more than just buy some blankets for them to distribute; he also included handwritten notes for each person receiving a blanket.

Mikah gave up his Xbox so that he could give over sixty blankets.

Today, I live in my own house, and someday you will too.

There was a time when Mikah's parents a few years ago had lost their home and stayed at an emergency shelter for few weeks. He arrived at his plan to purchase and distribute blankets after he saw some homeless individuals while he was out with his family. He was curious how those people would keep themselves warm during winter, and his grandmother suggested that a warm blanket would be of great help.

Microsoft caught wind of Frye's generosity, Fox 8 reported Saturday, and made a decision to set up a surprise for him: a limited edition Minecraft-themed Xbox One X from none other than Santa himself. When they gave him a blanket, he had to give it back.

When she learned that Microsoft was going to reward Frye with an Xbox One X for his selflessness, it was almost impossible to keep the secret. After a story about his Christmas giving from local news channel Fox8, the local Microsoft store reached out to his family and arranged a special meeting with Santa who gave Mikah a new Xbox and some games.

"When they called and told me I was just instantly crying on the phone and I couldn't believe it".
