NC man's lawsuit says National Football League player ruined his marriage, report says

Summary: A North Carolina man is suing National Football League athlete Fletcher Cox for having an affair with his wife and breaking up their marriage.

Jeffords says that he discovered text and Snapchat messages between his wife and Cox.

The Observer reported that Joshua Jeffords, of Huntersville, filed a lawsuit against Fletcher Cox, 26, defensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles.

According to the suit, which was filed on November 22, Jeffords said he and his wife were happily married until September, when he learned of salacious text messages and messages over Snapchat between Cox and his wife.

Jeffords says his wife sent messages to Cox, calling the defensive tackle "boo" and saying she was "loving everything you have to say", "I really like you", "we'd make some damn lovely babies" and "I want to get to know you babe. I know we are compatible sexually...'" He has yet to respond to the lawsuit. Then in October, Jeffords claims, his wife packed her bags and moved to the Philadelphia area.

After his wife left, Jeffords claims he was admitted to a mental health facility for help with "substantial emotional distress".

"Basically having to completely restart my whole life over this and no longer have the person I thought I was gonna be with the rest of my life", says Jeffords. He is seeking at least $50,000 in damages.

"We would be doing this if it was anybody", Adkins told the station.

Neither Cox nor Cuesta Jeffords have publicly commented on the lawsuit.
