Salford fire: Six people in hospital after house blaze

The others were taken to hospital where tragically an eight year old boy and seven year old girl later died. A 35-year-old woman, understood to be the mother of the children, was described as being in a serious condition.

Two 16-year-old boys managed to escape the fire by themselves.

Three children have died and another seriously injured following a fire at a house in Salford that police suspect was started deliberately.

The Manchester Evening News reported one line of investigation is a possibility that a flammable liquid was poured through the home's letterbox.

Demi was a pupil at Harrop Fold School in Little Hulton, Salford - where Channel 4's Educating Manchester was filmed.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service tweeted: "Sadly it's been confirmed that three children have died following this morning's house fire in Worsley, another child and a woman are in hospital in a very serious condition".

Police have launched an arson investigation and there is now an "active manhunt" for the suspect.

"I can't believe your gone... your cheek face An amusing attitude will be missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know you".

It is believed that police were called to the house at 2am, around three hours before the fatal fire, following reports of a wheelie bin being set on fire.

Seven people are thought to have been in the property at the time the fire took hold.

Detectives are said to be keeping an open mind over whether the suspected arson attack was "gang related".

Four crews from Farnworth, Bolton Central and Eccles attended.

Firefighters are still on the scene to monitor the house for any remaining hotspots.
