Shivering US could use some global warming, Trump says in tweet

President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Thursday to urge East Coast residents to "bundle up" against the upcoming cold snap while poking at global warming - a day after The Washington Post predicted such analogies were inevitable.

"Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against", he said.

For Times Square on New Year's Eve, temperatures are forecast to be in the single digits.

In fact, 2017 is on track to be the second-or third-hottest year ever recorded globally, according to researchers. Jim Inhofe (R) to bring a snowball onto the Senate floor in late February 2015 as a supposed counterweight to claims of global warming. "Global warming is a total, and very expensive, hoax!"

Trump's tweet further places the President's climate policy out of step with the vast majority of scientists, who believe global warming is damaging for the United States and the world.

In addition, Trump announced the US would no longer pay into the Green Climate Fund, an account overseen by the United Nations that sought to provide $100 billion in annual financing for climate change initiatives for poor nations by 2020.

"Climate change will not occur evenly from place-to-place. Bundle up!" Trump tweeted.

He announced earlier this year his intention to pull out of the landmark Paris climate agreement aimed at curbing greenhouse gas production.

"In case we have forgotten, because we keep hearing that 2014 has been the warmest year on record, I asked the chair, do you know what this is?"

It's bad enough that the President of the United States doesn't have the ability to comprehend scientific evidence and implement policies accordingly.
