'The Last Jedi' aims to capture that old Star Wars feeling

Even though Star Wars: The Last Jedi is just days away from being released, director Rian Johnson can't stop himself from teasing out details.

The sci-fi saga has spawned a number of spin-off TV shows, books and video games, with RPG being one of the most popular and immersive pixelated adventures.

Hamill tells The Associated Press that "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is not a particularly happy story to tell for Luke Skywalker.

Speaking to Uproxx, Johnson said: "I played that game when it first came out and it was like, 'God, I loved it'". Yeah, that's a fantastic game. "And I understand it, the instinct to automatically go to something that you know and love, that you've already seen", he said.

"Oh, [fans] love Knights of the Old Republic". "For me, the exciting thing about the new trilogy is the notion of how wide open it is and the idea of what can we create", he continued to say. But since Disney took over, the Star Wars canon has erased the Old Republic storylines, which means now is the flawless time to start developing something from the 2003 game, and the current ongoing MMO.

Johnson sat down for an interview with Parade Magazine wherein he detailed a few interesting tidbits, including that Star Wars fans may see a new lightsaber hue in The Last Jedi.

Or maybe Poe makes out with Finn and he just doesn't want to spoil it.

However we do know what it's not going to be, and that is it won't be about The Old Republic.

Aside from the classic green, red and blue lightsabers, there has only been one other notable lightsaber color that made its way into a Star Wars live-action movie. "Personally, I want to see a Yoda origin story".
