Battle Royale Mode to be Update with More Points of Interest

Beside the new city, players will get many new points of interest, including a motel and a scrapyard.

A new update to Fortnite is on the way, and this one primarily deals with the game's sole Battle Royale map. "We felt that it was a little bit light on points of interest so we wanted to kind of even the island out and make it feel like there were more locations to drop into". The swamp feel "swampier", mountains feel "more mountainous", etc. On November 30, Epic Games, "Fortnite" developer, revealed the new #City that would be added, and while players got really excited for it, they had to wait almost two months for it to come to the game.

Of course, next week's update for Fortnite's Battle Royale mode won't completely focus on the addition of new areas to the map, as the team is hard at work ensuring the game runs smoothly overall. The quick two-minute development update goes over some high level changes you can expect to see when the Fortnite update goes live, with much more detailed patch notes expected to come sometime next week.

With regard to the Holiday Trees, they will be leaving with the change to the map, but Williamson assures players that other seasonal treasure chests and such feature in future.

Epic Games is also doubling down on themes for different regions of the map, explaining that the map will now be divided into different biomes, each with its own unique personality.

Primarily this is a big map update for the game.

Fortnite is available now in early access on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with its full launch occurring at some point in 2018.
