Bracket set for Wild Card Round

Bracket set for Wild Card Round

Now, in the interest of excitement, we can hope that it plays out in the 2018 NFL Playoffs. While they could climb as high as the No. 2 spot if circumstances break the right way for them, they will most likely take the top wild-card spot and the No. 5 seed. The Chiefs won four straight games to end the regular season, scoring at least 26 points in each contest.

In the AFC, neither of the two wild cards have been clinched, but the Baltimore Ravens (9-6) are in excellent shape to earn the fifth seed.

The New England Patriots will continue their quest to defend its Super Bowl title on Saturday, January 13 in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

The unlikely outcome scrambled the postseason picture for five AFC teams: Baltimore, Buffalo, Jacksonville, Kansas City and Tennessee.

The Bills were the final team to qualify.

However, the Titans host the Jaguars, and that's the toughest assignment of those three teams. The Atlanta Falcons were victorious in the final regular-season game against the Carolina Panthers and earned the No. 6 seed. If the Ravens are successful, they will go to Kansas City to play the Chiefs.

The Falcons got the win they needed, but the Panthers didn't. The Eagles and Minnesota Vikings, who won the NFC North and hope to become the first team to ever play the Super Bowl on its home field, host divisional playoff games January 13 or 14. If the Titans and Chargers lose and the Bills win, Buffalo would advance. They'll also play the division champs from the AFC West and AFC North, as they - and every other team - has games against the other teams in their conference that finished in the same position.

Finally, the New Orleans Saints host the Carolina Panthers in the late window, with kickoff at 4:40 p.m. ET. Before the Week 16 when the Jaguars clinched a playoff berth, they went 10-4 and held eight of their opponents to 10 points or fewer. They just needed to beat the Falcons and the Buccaneers to beat the Saints.

Atlanta Falcons at Los Angeles Rams, 7:15 p.m. Look for the Rams to win this playoff game at home.
