Cardi B defends fiancé Offset over homophobic lyric controversy

Cardi B defends fiancé Offset over homophobic lyric controversy

Now, Offset's finacé Cardi B is taking her turn defending the misinterpretation.

She continued: "He never acts uncomfortable and he just don't care". "It has a different vocabulary on the dictionary", she explained. Offset apologized for the line late last week, but with the caveat that he intended the word as "lingo that means unusual or odd", not as a gay slur. The rapper took to her Instagram to defend her fiance who is in the middle of controversy for using the word "queer" in a song.

That's when she admitted that when she first heard his lyrics, Cardi called Offset and asked him why he would use the word "queers" in his verse, in the first place.

Cardi B has been taking heat from fans on social media over old videos in which she used words like "tranny" and "queer" to refer to other people - and now, she's addressing everything and apologizing (well, sort of) in a new livestream.

"A lot of people are not aware of what's wrong or right in the LGBT community and that's the thing".

Chart-topping rapper Cardi B is in defense mode now that her fiancé Offset is being accused of spouting homophobic lyrics.

The Migos star has apologised for offending fans by rapping the line: "I can not vibe with queers", insisting he wasn't using the derogatory word as a slur, and now his girlfriend is backing him. Obviously, that seems pretty clearly homophobic - something that Migos don't have a great track record with to begin with - but Offset insisted that he was talking about "lame people who film you, post it and stalk you", not actual gay people, and that he's into fashion so he can't be homophobic anyway. He said the term queer means "odd" or "strange" and so it was not an attack on the LGBTI community. Like I didn't know that that was a word that you can not use, especially because my trans friends use it and growing up, my parents never told me that that was a bad word. Lingo that means unusual or odd.
