Cold Start To Week, Snow Possible Mid-Week

Cold Start To Week, Snow Possible Mid-Week

Gusty winds remain through tomorrow and that will create feels-like temperatures in the teens tonight and 20s tomorrow.

Colder temperatures will return once again next week and bring a low risk of wintry weather to parts of the Carolinas. Plenty of sun shines down with high pressure overhead, but the source of that high pressure is the Canadian north, so it doesn't do much to warm us up. Risky wind chills are possible by Tuesday morning, ranging from 10 to 20 below zero.

The winds relax by Sunday morning and that will allow the air to cool into the teens.

Tomorrow night: Snow showers have trouble making it east of the mountains, likely leaving us with just cloudy skies. Lows only drop to the low-to-mid 20s. But the cold front returns Tuesday night.

Thursday's unseasonable warmth that sent Chicago-area highs surging to around 60 is now but a distant memory as a strong arctic blast sent area temperatures tumbling to the teens by Friday evening.

Snow whips through the area but the cold is not in as big a hurry to leave. Snow showers taper off Monday afternoon leaving light accumulations.

The chance of snow across the state Tuesday is 30 percent, with northern DE having its chance at precipitation in the afternoon and the southern side catching up in the evening, Klein said.
