Google 'Endorses Political Violence' According To Damore Lawsuit

"Google furnishes a large number of internal mailing lists catering to employees with alternative lifestyles, including furries, polygamy, transgenderism, and plurality, for the objective of discussing sexual topics", the suit states. In an email sent to employees after Damore's dismissal, Pichai reiterated the company's commitment to equality and diversity. He was joined in the suit by David Gudeman, another former Google engineer.

"Damore, Gudeman, and other class members were ostracised, belittled, and punished for their heterodox political views, and for the added sin of their birth circumstances of being Caucasians and/or males", claimed the lawsuit.

The suit claims Google maintains a blacklist of conservatives media personalities not allowed on company grounds: It allegedly includes radio host Alex Jones and conservative blogger Curtis Yarvin.

Damore further alleges that the human resource department of Google didn't take any action even after having acknowledged the fact that conservative employees "did not feel included".

James Damore's class action lawsuit, filed January 8 with the Santa Clara Superior Court in California, alleges that employees who fit that description were "singled out, mistreated, and systematically punished and terminated from Google". It alleges Google "discriminated against employees for their perceived conservative political views", as well as their "male gender" and "Caucasian race".

Gudeman had previously been cited by HR, according to the suit, after he saw a female Google manager's advice on how white men should respond to statements about bias and compared it to something "slave owners would have written for their slaves to help them understand how to interact with their masters".

Dhillon, a Republican National Committee committeewoman from California, says the class of plaintiffs includes "dozens" of Google employees and would-be employees shunned due to their political beliefs, including supporting Trump.

The suit is an extension of Damore's notorious memo, titled "Google's Ideological Echo Chamber" (a phrase that appears in the lawsuit as well), which accused Google of muting opinions about diversity to protect "psychological safety". The Google presenters also discussed putting "diverse" individuals into high priority queues so that they were more likely to be hired, and hired faster.

Damore said he received harassing emails after his memo circulated around the company.

The suit features an image of an e-mail from Alex Hidalgo who works at Google who explicitly told Damore that he was a misogynist and that he would harass him until one of them was sacked.

This lawsuit was filed on behalf of Damore, the engineer who created a firestorm last summer with his memo about women in tech and his comments about how Google treats conservatives.

Gudeman worked at Google from 2013 until December 2016, when he claims he was wrongfully terminated from the tech company, according to the complaint.

But Damore said he would "welcome" the chance to go back to work for Google ― whose workforce is still disproportionately white and male ― and continue fighting for the rights of men, Caucasian people and conservatives.

"We look forward to defending against Mr Damore's lawsuit in court", said a Google spokesperson when asked for comment.
