How it happened: Donald Trump's "sh*thole countries" remark

How it happened: Donald Trump's

U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday denied a derogatory comment that he is alleged to have made against some Central American and African countries that triggered an worldwide outrage for its racist undertones. He said Trump's reported comments represent a willful ignorance about the educational demographics African immigrants. "He should act accordingly and conduct himself in a more diplomatic manner", said Haitian immigrant Nicolle Saitlious.

Another black Democratic lawmaker, Cedric Richmond, said Mr Trump's comments "are further proof that his Make America Great Again agenda is really a Make America White Again agenda".

The White House did not deny the comment, which was widely reported by other United States media.

"I condemn this unforgivable statement and this demeaning of the office of the Presidency", Baltimore Rep. Elijah E. Cummings said in a tweet. 'The President and all those attending the meeting know what I said and how I feel.

"Yesterday Senator Durbin and I met with President Trump at the White House to discuss our bipartisan proposal on border security and immigration".

The president made the shocking remark Thursday during a bi-partisan meeting at The White House on immigration.

Walker says he has heard many different reports on what was actually said during the bi-partisan immigration meeting.

The president's first Twitter post Friday morning did not address the language he used, but instead called the immigration deal that would protect undocumented immigrants who arrived in the United States as children "a big step backwards". The senators are working to codify the protections in DACA. "There is no other word you can use but "racist". Some countries, such as Botswana, demanding the president apologize for his remark. "I think on the immigration issue, when you're making racist comments like that it makes it more hard to come to an agreement on a deal that he can support", the aide said, adding it also raises questions about future negotiations and whether Trump will "play a constructive role".

Trump spent Thursday evening making a flurry of calls to friends and outside advisers to judge their reaction to the tempest, said the confidant, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to disclose a private conversation. It is reassuring that Florida Republicans such as Gov. Rick Scott, former Gov. Jeb Bush, members of Congress and state legislators directly denounced and rejected the presidents language.

Haitians weren't the only people offended by the president's comments.

In his statement Friday, Graham, who challenged Trump when he made the "shithole" comment, encouraged lawmakers to look past the incident and come to a solution. "We are not from "s-thole" countries", he said. "He is basically a racist", said Uche Ewo, an Atlanta fine arts dealer from Nigeria.

Former President Bill Clinton responded Friday to President Trump's reported comments questioning why the US was accepting immigrants from "s--hole" countries, allegedly made in reference to Haiti and some countries in Africa and Central America.
