Javier Hernandez could make Man United return

Manchester United have inquired over the availability of Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy and West Ham United outcast Javier Hernandez as Jose Mourinho bids to add to his attack in the January transfer window. Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been linked with him, but none of them has made any contact as yet.

The Red Devils are reportedly looking for a back-up option to Romelu Lukaku, with former Sweden global Zlatan Ibrahimovic back on the sidelines due to injury.

Manchester United are targeting moves for a number of Premier League strikers as they look to give more support to first choice striker, Romelu Lukaku.

The England worldwide scored an impressive 24 times in the Foxes' title-winning 2015/16 campaign, while also breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy's record for scoring in consecutive Premier League games. He would also be eligible to play for United in the UEFA Champions League.

The Daily Telegraph understands United will have to stump up £35m to match Leicester's valuation of Vardy, who turned down a move to Arsenal in favour of signing a new contract in the summer of 2016.

Would you like to see "Chicharito" back at Old Trafford?

The Mexico worldwide made a name for himself as a real goal-poacher during his time at Old Trafford, particularly as a substitute, and he was hugely popular among supporters.

Mourinho is a known admirer of Hernandez, who spent five years at Old Trafford between 2010 and 2015 and won two Premier League titles, having spoke highly of the Mexican last year.

Hernandez has four goals in 17 Premier League outings for a struggling West Ham this season, and his future looks bleak under manager David Moyes.
