"

"He's fit for the remainder of this term, and the next term, if he's elected."

".

On Friday, the president was examined by military doctors at the Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, in tests that were said to have gone "exceptionally well".

The doctor told reporters Trump scored 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, which according to its website is a "cognitive screening test created to assist Health Professionals in the detection of mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease".

Jackson said that though not required by the exam protocol or recommended, he conducted a cognitive test on the president at his insistence in the light of questions raised by critics. "They were surprised. And they said, 'Well you can stop now, that's awesome.' And I said, 'I can go much longer than this if you want me to'".

Finally, the MoCA is not a comprehensive tool that can definitely rule out (or in) any particular cognitive issue.

"The President is very sharp, very articulate when he speaks to me", Jackson said.

"I've always been more of a believer in diet 'cause I'm strong, you know?"

Asked about a much-discussed episode in which the president seemed to slur his words during a televised speech in December about the Middle East, Jackson said it might had been caused by Sudafed, a medicine for nasal congestion.

"It's concerning because you can start to say, 'well if you do nothing different, if things don't change, ' you can start to predict the likelihood of having some sort of heart event, cardiac event, or heart attack or something like that within a certain number of years".

Trump earlier this month tweeted that he's a "very stable genius", elevating the public conversation about his mental state.

"The president came to me and said 'is there something we can do?'" Jackson told reporters, later adding that the idea that Trump is mentally unwell has "been the narrative for a while".

Trump "was watching and liked it", an official said after the briefing.

Nevertheless, some took issue not just with the president's listed weight, but his height, as well.

Other information disclosed by the medical include Mr Trump's "healthy teeth and gums", a "regular heartbeat", and the fact that the president last had a colonoscopy in 2013 which showed no abnormalities.

Jackson said he'd like Trump to exercise more, though the president was "more enthusiastic" about modifying his diet to lose weight, rather increasing his daily exercise.

"He has a history of elevated cholesterol, and is now on a low dose of Crestor".

In September 2016, Trump's personal doctor, Harold N. Bornstein, said he took low-dose aspirin and a statin drug to help lower his cholesterol.

Just to be safe, Jackson and an ear-nose-and throat specialist ran some extra tests and found nothing amiss.

According to the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute and the CDC, Trump's body mass index of 29.9 makes him officially overweight.

"Some people have great genes".

The president - who is 71 and is six feet and three inches tall, weigh 239 pounds (108 kg) - is borderline obese on the BMI, and his cholesterol was high. Trump isn't known to exercise beyond short walks, and he uses a cart when he plays golf.

"He has a very unique ability to get up in the morning and reset", Jackson said, adding that if he himself were in the president's shoes, he'd imagine each day would build on the last in terms of stress levels.

Jackson said the President sleeps only four to five hours a night but rarely sees the President overly stressed. "That's probably one of the reasons why he's been successful", the doctor said.

U.S. President Donald Trump could live up to 200 years if he had maintained a healthier diet over the past 20 years, White House physician, Dr Ronny Jackson, said.
