Nigeria summons United States ambassador over Trump shithole comment ―Foreign Minister

This week, pundits, commentators, social media users and seemingly every else in the world wrestled with the ramifications of President Trump allegedly referring to a group of countries, including the entire continent of Africa, as "shitholes" while also lamenting the lack of immigrants from countries like Norway.

Trump was meeting with lawmakers about a potential deal on immigration last week when he questioned why the USA should admit more people from Africa and Haiti. Dick Durbin, who attended, and others who were briefed on the conversation but were not authorized to describe it publicly.

Before a dinner with Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., at Trump's golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, the president denied making the "s-hole" remark.

In an interview on ABC's This Week, host George Stephanopoulos asked Lewis to react to Trump's attempt to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. after reports said that the president had made racist remarks about African countries and Haitian refugees.

"Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?" he reportedly said.

"Here's why I'm not outraged: People of color warned you", Lemon concluded. "They're not shocking, not even really surprising because this is who Donald Trump is-this is what he thinks".

Asked Tuesday about Trump and some Republicans challenging his honesty, Durbin tells reporters, "Politics ain't beanbag". Lindsey Graham of SC were mistaken in indicating that was the case.

However, Perdue on Sunday described as a "gross misrepresentation" reports that Trump used the vulgarity. Trump announced past year that he will end the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, unless lawmakers come up with a solution by March.

The Obama-era programme, known as DACA, will begin winding down in March unless Congress and Trump can agree on a bill.

Some Democrats have threatened to vote against legislation to extend government funding, which expires on Friday, unless protections for the Dreamers are included.

"Relations between South Africa and the United States, and between the rest of Africa and the United States, must be based on mutual respect and understanding", said Monyela. "They were not made", he added.

Sen. Lindsey Graham is blaming President Donald Trump's staff for the president's about-face on immigration that appeared to scuttle a compromise deal to protect from deportation young people brought to the children and living here illegally.

"We have a lot of sticking points but they're all Democrat sticking points", he said. I think that they were unfortunate.
