Oppo A83 launched in Indian markets featuring AI beauty recognition technology

According to the company, the Oppo A83 has been designed in line with its UFO Curve Design Philosophy. Also, the new Oppo smartphone has a full-screen display with thin bezels and comes preloaded with the company's AI Beauty Recognition technology that uses artificial intelligence (AI) efforts to enhance selfies and group shots. The handset offers a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels.

Oppo has launched its latest budget smartphone, the Oppo A83 in India today.

Oppo A83, a new entry-level smartphone from the company with a focus on "AI Beauty" and a full screen display, has been launched in the Indian market. The smartphone is running ColorOS 3.2 which is based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek's Helio P23 (MT6763T) chip, an octa-core silicon clocked at a maximum operating frequency of 2.5GHz. The Oppo A83 was originally launched in China a year ago and comes with a near bezel-less display. Oppo A83 packs a sufficient 3180 mAh battery and has dual sim layout, both the grooves being nano-sim. It is coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

Chinese smartphone maker OPPO on Wednesday launched the A83 smartphone that claims to deliver natural selfie experience to young consumers through its "AI Beauty Recognition Technology". Sadly, it's a hybrid card slot setup, and not a dedicated microSD card setup.

For photography, the Oppo A83 is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies, video calling and Face Unlock feature.

If you're interested in buying the phone, OPPO will commence sales of the A83 in India January 20 onwards. Similarly, the front camera sensor enables face unlocking, just as what is available on various existing Oppo and Vivo models. At the back of the phone, we have a 13MP camera with support for an LED flash. This is the first Oppo device to come with this new Face Unlock feature.

All the other specifications of the smartphone include the 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, micro USB, and A-GPS. Apart from this, the device also comes with sensor, accelerometer, and compass sensors.

The Oppo A83 comes in two color variants; Black and Champagne, it will be available for Rs. 13,990 from January 20th via offline and online retailers.
