Prince William Scrubs in to Watch Robotic Surgery in London

From the red carpet to the OR.

Prince William might be trading in the crown for a surgical cap!

The future King of England sat in on a robotic surgery at Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea.

The Duke of Cambridge joked as he compared the practice to that of playing on a PlayStation.

Kensington Palace shared several photos and videos from the prince's visit, and Doc William was clearly fascinated by the goings-on in the operating room.

The prince learned more about the technique used for the robotic surgery.

The Prince watched a breast reconstruction surgery being performed with the machines and observed the removal of cancerous tumours from a patient's bladder and tongue at the hospital.

"Performing head and neck surgery with the da Vinci robot reduces what would be a 12-hour open surgery operation into a two hour operation", Vinidh explained in an article posted on the hospital's website.

Prince William also spent time at the hospital talking to patients and meeting with staff members.

William is President of The Royal Marsden, which was very special to his late mother Princess Diana.
