SAG Awards to Feature All-Female Presenters

Sunday night's 24th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards isn't just about honoring the best in movies and TV.

Check out what your favorite stars wore to the Screen Actors Guild Awards at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles.

This year's show will feature a mostly female roster of presenters and its first ever host with Kristen Bell.

Who's Presenting At The Awards?

"We are acknowledging the year of the woman", said Ms Kathy Connell, executive director of the ceremony, which takes place a day after hundreds of thousands of women turned out for marches throughout the United States.

In line with the Time's Up Movement, all the presenters will be women.

Lewis says the show is "leading the revolution" by dealing with such timely issues as police brutality, women's rights and depression.

Fans and professional critics alike are weighing in on the best and worst in attire among the celebrities arriving on the red carpet at the Shine Auditorium in Los Angeles, where the two-hour awards show is being televised live at 8 p.m.

The brisk show comes two weeks after a black-dress protest at the Golden Globe Awards, and several stars including Meryl Streep, Emma Stone and Michelle Williams bringing activists to the show. Subsequent shows have featured more varied fashion trends, but the emphasis has been on issues, not exclusively awards, during Hollywood's celebratory season.

The SAG Awards have reliably predicted the best actor Oscar victor in 18 out of its 24 years, including a run of 12 straight years.

In the supporting-actor category, Rockwell will compete with his "Three Billboards" castmate, Woody Harrelson, along with Steve Carell for his role as tennis chauvinist Bobby Riggs in "Battle of The Sexes", Willem Dafoe for "The Florida Project" and Richard Jenkins for "The Shape of Water".

Members represent some 1,200 of the roughly 6,000 voters for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The cast of the HBO fantasy series is also nominated for the best drama ensemble award that will be handed out later Sunday.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri leads the film categories with four nominations while Big Little Lies leads the TV categories with five nominations.

For television, the drama series ensemble nominees are "The Crown", "Game of Thrones", "The Handmaid's Tale", "Stranger Things" and "This Is Us".

On the television side of the awards, the comedies "Black-ish", "Curb Your Enthusiasm", "GLOW", "Orange Is the New Black" and "Veep" are nominated for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series.
