Samsung's SmartThings is a connected home hub, allowing several devices to interact with one another.

Though the Samsung Family Hub fridge did come with Bixby support previously, it only offered basic voice controls.

It'll let you do all the basics you'd expect of a voice assistant, from asking questions about the weather to finding new TV shows with your voice. Family Hub is also more intuitive and intelligent with the addition of Bixby voice control and its integration with Samsung's SmartThings IoT ecosystem.

For those not familiar with Bixby, it is Samsung's answer to Siri, Alexa, .Cortana.

With Bixby, Family Hub can also recognize individual voices and provide personalized information based on preferences.

The 2018 Samsung Family Hub also includes software updates.

The 2018 Family Hub line of refrigerators will launch this spring, though Samsung isn't yet disclosing pricing. Users can adjust the thermostat, switch off smart bulbs and even leave a note for family members from the screen on the fridge.

Family Hub helps consumers manage food, with the View Inside app that enables users to see inside the fridge from anywhere. So the morning readout that happens when you ask "Hi Bixby, what's new?" will theoretically feature the correct calendar appointments and not someone else's. And a new Deals app "gives users the ability to find great bargains and save them directly to the Shopping List or loyalty card". Feel free to stream songs and enjoy audio coming from the AKG Premium Quality Sound Speaker. The AKG speaker offers better bass and midrange sounds.

With the Apple Watch, users are capable of controlling some of their connected household appliances via the wearable, which makes ideal sense if you'd rather not walk around your home with your phone. Further, a user can already play Samsung smart TV on the fridge's touchscreen, and going forward, a user would also be able to mirror their smartphone. The SmartThings app seamlessly connects the Family Hub with hundreds of Samsung and third party compatible connected devices.
