Smart-mouthed Detective Pikachu is coming to Canada this March

Smart-mouthed Detective Pikachu is coming to Canada this March

The action-adventure aptly titled Detective Pikachu is being rolled out in the us and the rest of the world on the Nintendo 3DS on March 23rd, according to an announcement from The Pokemon Company today.

You're sure to encounter plenty of other interesting characters as you explore the big city, including Brad McMaster, a police lieutenant; and Mike Baker, a man who used to work with Harry. Along the way, he meets Detective Pikachu, a unique Pokemon who can talk.

Crime is rampant in Ryme City, and it's up to a coffee-loving Pikachu to help uncover clues and put the bad guys behind bars. Inevitably, every time we post about new Pokemon GO stuff we attract snide comments about how the game is dead, but that couldn't be further from the truth.

Detective Pikachu will be available for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, which includes the 2DS.

The reason the game has got so much attention is that it involves a talking pikachu, rather than one that just keeps saying his name over and over, so there's actually a proper story for once.

The New Nintendo 2DS XL Pikachu Edition will be making its way onto North American shelves on January 26, and will set you back $159.99.

Nintendo unveiled today a giant new Detective Pikachu amiibo.

You can check the amiibo and watch the Detective Pikachu trailer below to get a better look at the game. It's not quite Danny DeVito either, though Pikachu's voice actor seems to have snuck a DeVito impression into the role. Both the amiibo and Detective Pikachu will launch on March 23, 2018. Apparently Ryan Reynolds is going to voice the Pokémon in the Detective Pikachu movie?

Nintendo says there are more details on Detective Pikachu to come, but for now, mark your calendars for March and sharpen those deductive skills.
