Trump says 'I am not a racist'

Donald Trump's ex-wife Ivana made a stir when she appeared on Good Morning Britain today.

Why wouldn't President Trump refer to African nations and Haiti as "shithole" countries - when his friends leave the United States and come over to our "shithole" countries and accumulate massive wealth, while our people are stuck in poverty?

"First stop would be Osu Castle, Elmina Castle, and the over 40 Forts that detained about 30 million slaves, beaten and shipped out like sardine cans and then I will tell you the history of Africa and why people like you made that a "shithole" continent".

Asked what he thinks about people who think he's racist, Trump said: "I'm not a racist".

All I'll say is this: When you know your enemies are eager to pounce on any transgression - no matter how microscopic - you should probably try not to give them openings.

Trump's comments come in the wake of his earlier "shithole" remark, which has now snowballed.
