Trump's slur on countries is 'racist'

Trump's slur on countries is 'racist'

After Trump was asked at Thursday's White House meeting if the US would accept more immigrants from Haiti and Africa, the president reportedly questioned why people from "s***hole countries" are coming to America.

The African Union (AU) says it is angered by statements reportedly made by US President, Donald Trump in which he described Haiti and African countries as "shitholes".

In a tweet on Friday, Trump denied using the word "shithole", but Durbin insisted that the president had indeed said it.

Trump denied on Friday using such derogatory language, but he was widely condemned in many African countries and in Haiti and El Salvador, and by worldwide rights organisations. Near the end of previous year, the White House denied that Trump said Haitians had aids and that Nigerians would never "go back to their huts" in Africa during another immigration briefing.

Trump later tweeted that the language he used was tough, but not the language being reported.

A civil rights icon who also served as Ambassador to the United Nations spoke to News 4 about disparaging comments President Donald Trump reportedly made about Haiti and African countries.

Labossiere was among Haitians and Africans in the Bay Area and around the world who swiftly called Trump out for his comments, calling them blatantly racist. Trump said, according to Washington Post.

Q. "If [President Trump] did in fact say what's being alleged, how would that stack up against... incendiary comments that other presidents have made?" I have a wonderful relationship with Haitians. "Take them out", he said. "There is no other word but "racist". The African Union, a group representing the continent's 55 countries, issued a blistering statement saying the Trump had dishonored US values.

Republican Senator Tom Cotton and Republican Representative Bob Goodlatte were both there, as was White House aide Stephen Miller, a proponent of severely limiting immigration.

"I'm Don Lemon. The president of the United States is racist", Lemon memorably stated blankly.

Siplin's district includes Orlando's tourist district, where many Haitian immigrants are employed. Wall was not properly funded, Chain & Lottery were made worse and U.S. would be forced to take large numbers of people from high crime. I want safety and security for our people. I will not be diverted from all possible efforts to continue negotiating to stop the deportations.

The United Nations on Friday slammed US President Donald Trump´s reported description of African nations and Haiti as "shithole" countries as "shocking and shameful", and "racist".
